Regional Spatial Strategy
The Regional Spatial Strategy (previously known as the Regional Planning Guidance) provides a framework for local authority development plans and local transport plans. It incorporates the Regional Transport Strategy. Published in 2004, the strategy allows local authorities to deliver coherent regional development. A revision process is underway dealing with issues which the Secretary of State felt needed developing further in the original strategy.
