Midlands TUC
There are 66 national trades unions affiliated to the
TUC. The Midlands
TUC is their voice in the region. These unions represent around half a million members covering all sectors of work and from all backgrounds in the West Midlands. The Midlands
TUC also covers the East Midlands region. A regional council governs the work of the Midlands
TUC. Each year an executive committee representing trades unions and trades union councils is elected. The Regional Secretary directs the work of the
TUC in the Region and is the organisation’s main spokesperson in the Midlands. Equality is a key priority for the
TUC. Places are reserved on its executive committee for black, female, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered, disabled and young members. The Midlands
TUC also engages in a wide range of partnership work with key stakeholders in the Region.
