Regional Action West Midlands

Supporting the voluntary and community sector in the West Midlands

Culture West Midlands

Culture West Midlands aims: “To be the collective voice for the West Midlands cultural sector and to promote collaborative working in order to enhance the Region’s cultural offer and its contribution to quality of life”.

The consortium advises and informs central government, National Lottery distributors, local government and regional bodies. Culture West Midlands also facilitates the work of the Regional Cultural Forum which brings together all of the key regional cultural agencies. The Consortium and Forum together make up the Region’s policy partnership for Culture, advising the Regional Assembly and supporting the West Midlands policy concordat. Formerly known as West Midlands Life, the consortium became an independent non-departmental public body from April 2004, sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport through the Government Office for the West Midlands with additional funding from Advantage West Midlands and European Funding until 2008.
