The Future Role of the Third Sector in Social and Economic Regeneration
Known as the Third Sector Review, this is the Government’s final report of its review of the third sector. The report sets out a strategy to work with third sector organisations over the next ten years to promote social and economic regeneration.
The report is based around 6 themes:
- Cohesive communities and building voice for citizens;
- Partnership working to deliver a shared agenda;
- Promoting innovation and enterprise;
- Creating a culture of volunteering and mentoring;
- Future role of the sector in shaping and delivering public services; and
- Creating a sustainable resource base.
The Third Sector Review forms part of the Government’s latest Compulsory Spending Review (CSR). The CSR examines the whole of government spending for the next financial period. The forthcoming CSR will set out departmental spending plans for 2008-9, 2009-10 and 2010-11
