NI 7 Survey - a request to NAVCA Members
MESSAGE FROM KEVIN CURLEY CHIEF EXECUTIVE NAVCA:
Dear Colleague,
You will probably be aware of the national survey of the third sector being conducted by Communities and Local Government and the Office of the Third Sector, indeed many of you may well have been asked to complete it. If you have and you have not done so, I would urge you to complete it. The deadline has now been extended, and if you no longer have the original a replacement should arrive shortly, so there is still chance. NAVCA is supporting the survey because it enables us, for the first time, to get a real sense of the sector’s strength and the level of support it receives in all parts of England.
I’d like to make a further request. Please contact your members and other local groups and ask those that have received it to fill it in and return it. Many might question the value to them, so please tell them that this is a real opportunity for their voice to be heard by making sure that the environment in which they operate – good or bad – is understood by policy makers. If enough groups respond it will provide a rich source of information about the sector in your area. This is information that the Government has commited itself to sharing with all of us and it is information that we can use to argue for more resources, greater involvement or to demonstrate our contribution. So please ask all your colleagues to fill in and return the survey if they have received it.
Thanks and best wishes
Kevin Curley
