The chief executive of volunteering charity V Terry Ryall has launched an inquiry into what young people believe the big society should mean for them.

Speaking at a conference on the big society, Ryall said V would be looking to include thousands of young people in the inquiry through digital and community spaces.

Stressing the importance of action, Ryall said the charity would avoid setting up another "big society talking shop" and instead would be enabling young people to turn ideas into reality.

The inquiry is set to launch in January 2011.
