RAWM and Southern Electric put volunteers at the heart of the community
Fri, 24/09/2010
RAWM is pleased to announce a partnership with Southern Electric which will bring willing volunteers to projects across the West Midlands.
Through its Community at Heart programme, energy supplier Southern Electric, is offering employees the opportunity to spend one working day each year to support a community project close to their heart.
Community at Heart is one of several ways in which Southern Electric supports local communities. Gillian O’Reilly, Community Volunteering Manager describes the project as “an opportunity for staff to actively make a difference to things that they are passionate about outside of work.”
Sharon Palmer, RAWM Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re really excited about this new partnership. Both RAWM and Southern Electric cover large geographic areas, and both organisations are keen to support the local communities they serve to remain healthy and vibrant. We want to see as many West Midlands community groups as possible making the most of the extra pairs of hands that Southern Electric is offering.”
Local groups will be able to request volunteers to work on any activity that helps them achieve their aims. Finding a volunteer through Community at Heart is easy; just download and complete the form [321 kB, PDF] or call RAWM on 0121 237 5813 for a paper copy. Please return the form to RAWM by post or email. You should hear within 3 weeks whether or not your request for a volunteer can be met.
