Volunteer Custody Visitor
The Police Authority, which is the independent body which monitors and scrutinises force performance, is looking to recruit volunteers in the West Midlands area.
Before becoming a custody visitor, volunteers are provided with one full day of training and undergo a six month probationary period. Custody officers are required to make approximately one visit every six weeks. Visit times vary depending upon how busy the custody suites are but usually take no more than two hours.
Although Custody visitors are not paid, they are reimbursed expenses incurred on visits and training sessions.
For more information including an application pack, please contact Paul Norton, Community Engagement Officer by telephone: 0121 626 5685 or email: p.norton@west-midlands.police.uk.
