Addressing social exclusion and the impact on the third sector

Event outline

This informative half-day event will equip third sector and statutory organisations with an understanding of Europe 2020, and explore how the UK National Reform Programme will meet the five main targets of Europe 2020.

The session will explore what the proposed reforms identified by the UK Government really mean, including the potential and limitations of the DWP ESF Support for Families with Multiple Problems. Delegates will also better understand how Transnational Funds will promote the social inclusion objectives included in the 2014-2020 European programme.

Why should you attend?

At the ESF Adult Provision Update, held earlier this year, delegates identified information from the event that would contribute to their strategic planning. Delegates also identified areas of further support, including making links with prime contractors, developing partnerships between third sector organisations and prime contractors or providers, and developing early awareness of issues through engagement and networking.

This has informed WMEN's (West Midlands European Network) autumn training and seminar programme, and the session on the 29th September provides an opportunity for organisations to develop their understanding of key issues and formulate strategies for engagement in the UK proposals for the implementation of the 2020 strategy.
