PROGRESS Briefings - Exciting Opportunities for VCS Training Providers
Date:
Thu, 30/09/2010 - 10:00 - 15:30
Location:
bayc, Birmingham
Find out about Progress and how to become a training provider at G:up's Progress briefings.
Progress is a voluntary sector-led project to deliver 25,000 accredited training places on five key training priorities at levels 2 and 3 to volunteers and paid staff working with young people in England. Progress is delivered by a partnership led by the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS) under contract from the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC). G:up (through its accountable body bayc) is the regional delivery agent in the West Midlands
In order to achieve the aims of Progress we are seeking to increase the number of accredited training providers in the voluntary and community sector across the West Midlands.
If you’re interested in becoming a training provider you must:
- 1. Register on the NCVYS website
- 2. Attend a 1-2 day familiarisation training to be delivered by G:up
Over the next 2 months G:up’s Progress priorities are to:
- Engage with VCS training providers
- Promote training opportunities to learners
- Maximise the impact of the programme through intelligent, strategic linkages
- Deliver 2 Progress training provider briefings
- Deliver one, 2-day Progress familiarisation training
- Find out more about G:up
Briefings
If you would like to find out all about the Progress project and become a training provider, come along to G:up's Progress training provider briefings:
Date: Thursday 30th September
Times: 10am-12pm or 1:30pm-3:30pm
Venue: bayc, 581 Pershore Road, Birmingham, B29 7EL
Familiarisation Training
G:up will also be running a 2-day familiarisation training for training providers and dates will be confirmed soon.
How do I qualify?
Training providers must deliver accredited training through recognised awarding bodies, to see the current approved accredited training which can be offered, please contact G:up on gup@bayc.org or 0121 460 5870 and request the unit database. This will be explored further at the briefing sessions.
There is a bursary scheme available for non-accredited training centres. Click here for more information on the bursary.
