Parliamentary Outreach is to provide a free legislation workshop in Birmingham for groups and organisations interested in localism and decentralisation.

The event is being run as part of Parliament’s efforts to encourage engagement with legislative scrutiny and will focus on the different ways to track and influence the progress of a Bill.

The workshop will include information on:

  • submitting evidence to a Public Bill Committee in the Commons
  • engaging with members of the Lords as they consider a Bill
  • accessing independent House of Commons Library research
  • tracking the progress of a Bill online
  • understanding secondary legislation

Experts from the Houses of Parliament will be on hand to answer any questions on the parliamentary scrutiny of a Bill.

Booking Information

The workshop is free to attend and open to any individual or organisation with an interest in localism and decentralisation.

For more details on the workshop, please call Daniel Wood on 07917 488839 or Matt Ringer on 020 7219 4623, or email parliamentaryoutreach@parliament.uk to book a place.
