Location:

Objectives

  • Help third sector organisations understand the opportunities presented by sustainability issues of carbon reduction/energy saving, renewable energy generation, green jobs, and environmental infrastructure.
  • Signpost to support and good practice to realise sustainability opportunities for their operations, service delivery, and campaigning roles.
  • Identify areas where collectively third sector organisations can help deliver the green jobs agenda within the emerging local enterprise partnerships.

Audience

This event is aimed at senior staff or Board Members of third sector organisations as well as environmental sustainability campaigning organisations. Attendance from sub-regional third sector networks will also be important as well as relevant policy makers.

Proposed outcomes

Using the information gathered from the event and interviews with key partners, a document 'West Midlands Third Sector Green Agenda' will be published. This will be an evidence based document showcasing what the sector can do on sustainability and the role that RAWM, SWM, Regional Sustainable Development Forum and others can play in making this happen.
