Practical guidance on the do’s and dont's of commissioning, and the practical and legal issues involved in consortia working.

Getting Commissioned - health commissioning process
The commissioning process, highlighting the do’s and don’t’s, common errors, etc. will be explained by a commissioner from a Birmingham Primary Care Trust.

Consortia working
Dave Pinwell, Solihull Sustain, and Tracy O’Brien, BVSC, will discuss the practical, technical and legal issues voluntary and community groups should consider before signing up to consortia working.

There will also be short presentations from Dee Kyne, Pathfinder Healthcare Developments CIC, who will set out how Smethwick Medical Centre developed its patient and community engagement; and Tom Elkin, Compact Voice, who will explain the refreshed Compact, and its role in public service commissioning.

Booking Information

Booking deadline: 5pm, Monday 7th February 2011

This event is restricted to Birmingham and Solihull-based voluntary organisations and community groups, and targeted at those VCOs working around mental health issues.

Places are limited to 50, and will be allocated on a strict first come, first served basis, one place per organisation. A £50 fee will be charged for no-shows.

The events are free, and light refreshments will be provided.
