The Development Trusts Association is running an exciting new course about community asset transfer.

“Every Community now faces an urgent question: can we find ways of doing more for less?”

What is Community Asset Transfer?
Empowered and self-reliant communities transforming land and buildings into vibrant community spaces - growing a thriving and diverse third sector in partnership with the public sector.

For inspiring examples of community asset transfer visit www.atu.org.uk and www.buildingcommunity.org.uk.

What’s the course about?
Those who support community and voluntary organisations and social enterprises have a vital role to play in recognising opportunities and supporting those who want to develop community assets. We want you to understand the process and the support available and develop your confidence in the role that you play.

Who should attend?
National, regional and local VCS infrastructure organisations, Councils for Voluntary Service and local capacity building partnerships, Regional and sub-regional social enterprise agencies, Rural Community Councils, empowerment networks and neighbourhood workers.

This is a FREE course (including travel and accommodation costs), and will involve a variety of flexible learning methodologies:

  • 9th-10th November - Introductory residential in Wolverhampton
  • 16th, 30th November, 14th December- online virtual workshops using Elluminate technology (training provided)
